A new season of YHL hockey is just around the corner at Canlan Sports York!

STEP 1: CHOOSE YOUR SEASON
If you’re looking to register for our Spring 5-on-5 season in York, you’ve come to the right place!
◾ League schedules will be released online a minimum of 7 days prior to the start of the season.
◾ A directory of league specific rules will be provided to team coaches and managers, as well as being available online.

STEP 2: TEAM or FREE AGENT?
We permit both team entries, and individual (or free agent) registrations.
Team Entries: A coach or manager will need to register the team first. Once that’s complete, they’ll circulate a registration link to their team members.
Free Agents: If you don’t have a team, register as a free agent! Each season we build teams full of individual players, and help other individual players find a team that’s the right fit based on their age and skill level.
STEP 3: CHOOSE YOUR DIVISION
Each season we do everything we can to ensure that boys and girls have the best opportunity to play in a division that’s suitable for their age and skill level.
◾ Gender: Boys, Girls, or Coed
◾ Age Groups: U8 – U18 (or 2017 YOB to 2005 YOB)
◾ Skill: Sign up with your skill level so we can help get you into the right division (AAA, AA, A, AE, Select, House League)

Spring 5v5: $3,982 + HST

PAYMENT 🤝
DEPOSIT
A deposit will be required to complete your team’s registration:
◾ Spring ’23: $600
◾ The remaining balance of your team’s registration fee will be due one (1) month prior to the start of the league.
Teams with balances after the final payment deadline may be omitted from the league schedule until full payment has been received.
ROSTERS 👕
Rosters:
5-on-5: Maximum of 17 players per game, including two goaltenders. Maximum roster of 20 participants for the full season.
Jerseys:
The league does not provide teams with jerseys. Team registrations that need a set of uniforms can order directly from Keener Jerseys.
Conflict jerseys or pinnies will be available, if required.
AGE GROUPS 📊
Team registrations are available for the following age groups, for both boys/coed and girls teams. Teams with two (2) or more birth years on roster are to register for the oldest age applicable.

◾ U15 (2008 & 2009)
◾ U13 (2010 & 2011)
◾ U11 (2012 & 2013)
◾ U9 (2014 & 2015)
◾ U8 (2016 & 2017)
SKILL LEVELS 🏆
Register for the division that best reflects the skill levels of the participants that will be playing for your team in the YHL.

NEXT STEPS 🤝
AFTER REGISTERING ONLINE
◽ Your child’s registration will be considered as pending until we successfully match them with a team that fits their age group and skill level.
◽ Preference will be to place your child on an “Individual Player Team” with other free agent registrants, however, your child may be placed on a team entry if there is a suitable fit.
◽ Please note that friend requests are not guaranteed, though we’ll do our absolute best to accommodate them! We will do everything we can to ensure your child finds a suitable team, however if we are unable to find the right team prior to the start of a YHL season, you will be eligible for a credit or refund.

Featuring five NHL-sized rinks and one Olympic-sized ice surface, Canlan Sports York is the largest sports complex of its type in the Greater Toronto Area. Nestled on the campus of York University, the complex is conveniently located close to Highway 400 and Highway 407 and has subway access by way of Pioneer Village Station. One of Toronto’s minor hockey hubs, York also features the Canlan Youth Hockey League, ASHL, as well as being the home rink of the York Lions men’s and women’s hockey teams, and the Toronto Six professional hockey club.
