Present COVID-19 restrictions in British Columbia do not permit gameplay, which will require us to adjust our target start dates for the 2021 YHL season. While we wait for the green light, please note that our Scotia Barn location in Burnaby remains open for on-ice programs, camps, and ice rentals.

For the 2021 Season there will be one format:

     ◾ 5-on-5

STEP 3: CHOOSE YOUR DIVISION

Our age groups span from U7 (’15, ’16 YOB) all the way through to U19 (’03, ’04 YOB). Registrations will be accepted for boys and girls teams, who will subsequently be organized into cohorts.

Structure:
Games will be played primarily on Saturday’s and Sunday’s.

60-min game slots, including flood.

Teams will be placed into cohorts with participant caps in-line with Provincial guidelines.

Start dates, end dates, and game count may be subject to change based on Provincial Guidelines. See Terms and Conditions below for additional details.

Deposit: 
◾ $500.00

Price will be subject to change based on the number of games that are able to be scheduled under our start date scenarios. Teams are recommended to pay only a $500.00 deposit at present.

DEPOSIT 🤝 

Team registrations with a deposit will be guaranteed a spot, pending space. If games cannot be played, deposits will be kept on-file as a credit for use towards Canlan programming, with no cash refunds.*

Teams that register without a deposit will have their registration processed, but will not be guaranteed a spot.

ROSTERS + JERSEYS 👕

Rosters: 
Team rosters will be permitted to carry a “gameday” roster maximum of 12 participants (additional players may be rostered as spares without fee). In the event that Provincial guidelines require less than 12 players, the season details may be subject to change in order to comply.

Jerseys:
Team registrations will be required to provide their own jerseys. Conflict jerseys will be available, if required.

 

AGE GROUPS 📊

Team registrations are available for the following age groups, for both boys and girls teams. Cohorts will be established on a first-come, first-served basis.

U19 (2003, 2004)
U18 (2004, 2005, 2006)
U17 (2005, 2006)
U15 (2007, 2008)
U13 (2009, 2010)
U11 (2011, 2012)

Please note that female teams may be permitted to play down an age group, contingent on skill level.

 

 SKILL LEVELS 🏆

Teams are able to register for any of the following three skill-levels listed below.

◾ Elite (AAA, AA players)
◾ Rep (A, Rep-level)
◾ House (C, Recreational)

Pending cohort guidelines, rebalancing teams in-season may not be possible. During registration, coaches or managers are encouraged to use the Notes field to provide additional information about their team. The more information, the better!

*TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Season start dates, end dates, game counts, and playing format,  are subject to change based at the behest of the British Columbia Provincial Government, and any of its health agencies with the authority to issue public health orders, guidelines, and/or restrictions. In the event that programming is not able to take place or is interrupted for either season, teams that register with a deposit will receive a credit of equal value that can be used towards any future Canlan programming or surface rental. Teams are not advised to pay more than the deposit until a target start date has been confirmed. Teams that register without a deposit will have their registration processed, however, priority will be given to teams that register with a deposit.

Each team participant will receive a YHL jersey
Teams will be formed with a maximum of 12 participants.*

Price will be subject to change based on the number of games that are able to be scheduled under our start date scenarios.

AGES + SKILL LEVELS🤝 

If your child is born between January 1st, 2003 and December 31st, 2016, they’re eligible to play!

In addition to eight age categories, we’re also offering the following skill levels:

◽ Elite (AAA, AA players)
◽ Rep (A, Rep-level)
◽ House (C, Recreational)

 

Individuals applying to join a team are accepted in order of registration. The registration status is pending until we successfully match your child with a team of their age group & skill level. You will be sent a registration confirmation & team assignment closer to league startup.  Friend requests cannot be guaranteed, however we’ll do everything we can to accommodate them!

If games cannot be played, registrants acknowledge that any payments will be kept on-file as a credit that can be used towards future Canlan programming; no cash refunds will be issued. 
Individual registrations without payments will be kept on-file, however a spot will not be guaranteed.

Conveniently located off the Trans Canada Highway, Scotia Barn is the premier ice facility in the Metro Vancouver Area. Boasting six (6) NHL-size ice rinks in addition to a pad for figure skating and indoor soccer, the 250,000 sq. ft. facility is the hub of adult and youth hockey in the Lower Mainland.
